You’ll often hear people say they have building work planned on their home for the summer but img-22_07why wait until then? There is no reason you can’t plan and begin building work at any time of the year and spring in particular is a great choice because you can benefit from climate conditions, finding builders who aren’t already fully booked with projects and you can also get ahead of the summer trade and have your project already underway when peak times arrive.

The summer window for work is limited which is why expanding into earlier months is a savvy move by people looking to have work done on their homes or business properties. Though we can’t admit to having the finest weather in Greater Manchester, our builders in Bolton and the surrounding areas are always able to work on projects, no matter what time of year it is. Yes, you do need be prepared for delays when the weather isn’t at its best but you’ll still be further ahead than waiting for the summer to arrive.

Spring is traditionally a time when we want to get our homes in order from spring cleaning to structural repair work, extensions and loft conversions and below is a closer look at the reasons why choosing a spring start for your building project could be your best bet.

Beat the Rush!

Even the biggest building companies have a limit on how much work they can take on at one time and June and July are notoriously busy. If you’ve already got your project underway in April or May then you don’t have to worry about further delays due to other projects being worked on. It also means that smaller projects and even some larger ones can be done in time for summer so you can relax and enjoy your space without worrying about the builders.

Take Advantage of the Weather

April showers may be right but May is known statistically as the driest month of the year so if your project is underway from early Spring you can be sure it’s in flow throughout May, taking advantage of that late spring (or early summer) sun.

Longer Working Days

The longer the sun is up, the longer workers can safely and effectively get to work. Whilst planning work throughout winter can be productive if you want a finished project for the New Year or for the warmer months, delays due to the lack of light, shorter days and wet and windy weather mean that spring is just a safer bet.
